The products of an 8 year Marriage

My brother in law got married today. After congratulating them on their marriage, I was struck by the sight of my 2 daughters. I sat on the couch and watched them playing together, giggling and lying next to each other in front of the fireplace. They are perfection. I realized that if nothing else ever came of this marriage (which is not to say that nothing else has!) these two beautiful children are enough. They are the products of an 8 year marriage. They are the physical manifestation of our love. Is there anything more beautiful than that? Everything that goes into making a marriage work, the commitment, the compromise, it pales in comparison to what we have created together. Our daughters are the very best of both of us. They are the true essence of love, the very heart of who we are together.
I cannot put into words what I felt at that moment, watching my daughters laugh. It was the purest form of love there is.

My dad used to call my sister and I "love incarnate". I cannot express my joy for you that you share a similar feeling. You truly have beautiful thoughtfulness about you that reflects in your daughters. I hope you have many more moments of blissful giggling awe.

What a sweet moment for you, watching your girls and knowing they are born of the love and commitment you have with Stephen. Those are some of my favorite parent moments! Thanks for sharing.
