I'm gonna let her shine!
We just got back from Nana's student of the month assembly. I am so proud of my baby girl!! She is a good student and she deserved to be recognized today. The rest of the assembly was centered around Martin Luther King Jr. day and why we observe it. Some of the kids put on a mini musical. It was cute. I imagine one day my kids will be a part of something similar. Getting in the car afterward, Cel started asking me questions about the Civil Rights Movement and relating situations in her own life to those we were discussing. It was a great learning/teaching moment as a parent. I love times like these, where I can teach my kids about something so monumental and have them grasp it so well.
